description Season for Peak Fees: All Year Portola Redwoods State Park has a rugged, natural basin forested with coast redwoods, Douglas fir and live oak. Ten miles of trails crisscross the canyon and its two streams, Peters Creek and Pescadero Creek. A short nature trail along Pescadero Creek introduces visitors to the natural history of the area. Visitors can see clam shells and other marine deposits from the time when the area was once covered by the ocean. The park has one of the tallest redwoods (300 feet high) in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Check the State Parks website for additional information on the weather, suggested day hikes, or to see the park brochure, campground map, park photos, video, and more. drivingDirection From Highway 35, turn west onto Alpine Road, go 3 miles, and turnonto Portola State Park Road. The road dead ends in the park. Use low gearas both these roads are steep and winding. Not near Portola Valley.

importantInformation Due to the continuing extraordinary drought, there will be no showers provided at Portola Redwoods SP during your stay. There will also be a limited number of restrooms and spigots available. Please check the website periodically for updates. Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in. Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate must be presented upon check-in if you have a reservation for an ADA site. Failure to do so will result in the campsite being forfeited. Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP). There are no hook-ups at any of the Portola Redwoods SP sites. Extra vehicles that do not fit on the site must park in the overflow area. Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park. Although your site may hold 2 or more vehicles, your reservation only covers 1 vehicle (except for group or specialty sites). To book a Group site you must have at least NINE occupants. These facilities include: Sunset SB campground, Manresa SB campground, Seacliff SB campground, New Brighton SB campground, Henry Cowell Redwoods SP campground, Big Basin Redwoods SP campground, and Portola Redwoods SP campground.
